Mechanical Shift EngineerLocation: Hammersmith Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum Contract: Full-time, Permanent Shift Pattern: Continental Shift Pattern – 4 on, 4 off (7am–7pm / 7pm–7am)

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Shift Engineer to join our site-based engineering team in Hammersmith. Working on a continental shift rota, you will be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across a critical site. This role requires a hands-on engineer with strong plant room knowledge and the ability to work independently as well as within a team.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out PPMs and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems including pumps, motors, AHUs, FCUs, chillers, and boilers

Monitor plant operations and ensure efficient performance of building services equipment

Respond to helpdesk tasks and complete work within agreed SLAs

Undertake fault finding and repair works across mechanical systems

Support statutory compliance, record keeping, and health & safety requirements

Work collaboratively with electrical colleagues and contractors on site

Requirements

NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services

3 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance (commercial or critical environment)

Knowledge of HVAC systems, pumps, chillers, and boilers

Strong understanding of health & safety procedures and statutory compliance

Ability to work continental shift patterns (days and nights)

DBS check required prior to appointment
