Overview
The Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) role is vital to the effective/efficient running of flood risk pumping stations, water control structures and our wider business. You will be joining a MEICA team helping to prioritise, plan and deliver the maintenance or replacement of crucial assets enabling flood protection to homes, businesses and the environment. You will be working closely with external contractors to develop a world class asset management organisation. The role will also provide strong technical leadership to assure technical and design standards and to monitor quality, advising on requirements to meet specialist MEICA technical, safety, legal, environmental and operational requirements across diverse geographic areas.

Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for MEICA activity and act as a technical leader within the team.
- Support and direct MEICA maintenance, replacement planning and asset management initiatives.
- Liaise with a wide range of business partners and external contractors; lead on actions on behalf of the MEICA Team Leader and Operations Managers.
- Contribute to incident response duties and assist in responding to flood incidents as required.
Experience and Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering-related statutory legislation, British and European standards.
- Experience taking a lead role in safety investigations, identifying and disseminating learning to improve engineering and behavioural safety.
- Knowledge and experience of Root Cause Analysis, reliability engineering, process improvement, technical leadership, and writing/reviewing technical specifications.
- Educated to a minimum of HNC/D or degree level in an appropriate Mechanical discipline.
- Full UK Driving Licence is ESSENTIAL.
- Role-specific professional membership requirements: Professional registration at I-Eng or C-Eng preferred but not essential.
Location and Employment
You can be based at any of the listed locations with occasional hybrid homeworking and site visits. A full UK driving licence is essential for the role.
