Job Title: MEP Quality Engineer
Location: Plymouth (secure defence site)
Reporting Into: Quality Manager
Working Hours: 42.5 hours per week, 08:00–17:00
Job Type: Contract (Umbrella PAYE)
Overall Purpose of the Role
An experienced MEP Quality Engineer is required to support the delivery of a major redevelopment at a secure UK defence site in Plymouth. Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required (the process can take up to 8 weeks).
Eligibility: Candidates must hold a passport from an EU, NATO, Five Eyes, or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.
Key Tasks and Accountabilities
- Liaise between the project delivery team and site representatives to schedule Hold/Witness inspections and surveillance activities.
- Inspect works at notified points and conduct surveillance.
- Assist with on-site investigation of quality issues and support their resolution.
- Attend quality meetings as required.
- Deliver quality training modules to project and supply-chain staff.
- Ensure data evidencing achievement of quality objectives and targets is produced and maintained.
- Ensure the project Quality Management System (QMS) is robustly implemented.
- Ensure supply-chain partners maintain a documented QMS that meets contractual requirements and supports self-certification.
- Lead/coordinate quality meetings to maintain a strong quality culture, enable performance reporting, KPI tracking, and trend identification.
- Support the development and implementation of contract-/activity-specific KPIs with the project team and supply chain.
- Assist the construction team in reviewing and implementing ITPs, supply-chain quality plans, quality control procedures, and improvement plans; ensure timely, compliant close-out of NCRs, CARs, and observations.

Who We’re Looking For
- Academic Qualifications: Electrical, Mechanical, or Plumbing Engineering; Quality; or Construction-related qualification (HNC, BSc, MSc, BEng, MEng).
