Methods Engineer

New Yesterday

For many fans of Formula One, the sport exists between lights and chequered flag on a Sunday afternoon. It begins and ends with the exploits of the drivers on the track. But this is merely the tip of the spear. The reality of modern F1 is that of a complex and intertwined operation, every part of which needs to perform near its limit if success is to be achieved. From the pit crew searching for the ultimate repeatable pit stop, to the inspiration of the designers, the application of engineers and the herculean efforts of an army of fabricators and machinists. Much of our success is thanks to the diversity of thought and spectrum of skill sets held within the team, our ability to recognise unique contributions from individual team members is just a part of why we love what we do.
Job Description
Red Bull Powertrains have an exciting opportunity to join our technical office as we build on the team’s first Power Units, develop them into a race-ready package, and help deliver the most competitive car for the 2026 Formula One grid and beyond. Our open, dynamic, and inclusive environment ensures that everyone can make a valuable contribution. We are looking for a Methods Engineer to champion design for manufacture and assembly, research and advance best practices, and drive continuous improvement of the Power Unit to help deliver World Championship winning cars year on year.
If successful you will lead manufacturing and build reviews for new components and assemblies, manage design manual revisions and updates, and develop automated tools and processes to support the Power Unit design teams. Red Bull Powertrains are committed to supporting the development of all successful applicants and your aptitude and willingness to learn is as important as specific skills or experience.
Based on our Milton Keynes campus, you will be responsible for improving manufacturability, ease of assembly, and cost effectiveness while working closely with other teams across Red Bull Powertrains to deliver maximum performance and flawless reliability. To be successful you must be capable of planning and delivering multiple projects simultaneously.
Essential Knowledge and Experience for this Role
Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification
Knowledge and understanding of the design of mechanical or electrical components and systems for manufacture and assembly
Key Attributes of the Successful Candidate:
Passion for innovation, can-do attitude, and willingness to learn new skills
Ability to develop and implement engineering software tools and analytics while meeting tight deadlines
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong professional relationships across the Red Bull Technology Campus
We Love What We Do
At Red Bull, we believe that success isn’t just about the speed of our racing cars, it’s about the team behind every hard-earned victory. We take our work seriously – but not ourselves – knowing that the best results come when we trust, support, and challenge each other to continually push for better performance as one team. Each Grand Prix weekend is the culmination of the efforts of a multi-disciplinary team based at our Technology Campus in Milton Keynes, and Formula One is a true team sport where everyone can make a difference.
Our Benefits Package
Not only is this a fantastic Methods Engineer position, but it is also a fantastic team to work with here at Red Bull Powertrains. A good salary is just the start, there are many other benefits too such as our bonus scheme, private health care cover, life assurance scheme, workplace nursery scheme, company contributed pension scheme, on site gym & fitness classes, free daily food allowance, and a cycle to work scheme; but above all, the job satisfaction doesn’t get any better than the feeling of making a real contribution to our championship winning grand prix cars.
