We are seeking a skilled Metrology Engineer / CMM Programmer to provide both hands-on technical expertise and leadership within a growing team. This is a varied position, combining precision measurement, CMM programming (Mitutoyo), and continuous improvement initiatives, while also supporting and mentoring colleagues.

As a Metrology Engineer / CMM Programmer, you will:

• Provide expert metrology support, including dimensional inspection, precision measurement, and verification of complex parts.
• Develop, maintain, and optimise CMM programs (Mitutoyo) for new and existing components.
• Ensure measurement processes are robust, accurate, and aligned with customer/industry standards.
• Support calibration processes and maintain measurement equipment.
• Train, mentor, and develop technicians, sharing best practice across the team.
• Contribute to problem-solving activities, providing accurate data for Manufacturing and Quality teams.
• Drive continuous improvement, ensuring the metrology function supports wider business needs.

What we are looking to see from a Metrology Engineer / CMM Programmer:

• A strong background in metrology, precision measurement, and calibration.
• Hands-on CMM programming experience, ideally with Mitutoyo.
• Mechanical engineering training (e.g., HNC, apprenticeship, or equivalent).
• The ability to work strategically while remaining hands-on in daily activities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to mentor and support colleagues.
• A proactive approach, with problem-solving skills and a focus on continuous improvement.
