Ringway Jacobs, a leading provider of integrated highways management, maintenance, and civil engineering services, is seeking a talented MHI Senior Engineer to join their busy Member Highways Initiative team.Full Time, Length of FTC (8 months)Reporting to the Project Manager, you will play a key role in supporting and overseeing the operational team responsible for delivering a first-class service to councillors.You will contribute to the successful delivery of planned maintenance works and services, while ensuring alignment with the vision and priorities of the service. The role will also involve mentoring technicians and overseeing key functions within the maintenance group.About the RoleKey ResponsibilitiesManage and lead a team, providing daily guidance, direction, and support.Work closely with the programme team to ensure high productivity levels are maintained.Undertake audits to ensure compliance with established processes.Deliver a first-class service by ensuring all maintenance activities meet County Council and Essex Highways strategies and policies.Risk assess and develop job information in response to councillors’ requests.Identify, survey, and design work packages to support delivery programmes.Provide timely, accurate advice to elected members and the public on all highway-related matters.Promote and implement Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management Systems in line with Ringway Jacobs policies, minimising risks and ensuring compliance with CDM regulations.About YouRequirementsProven team management skills.HNC, A-Level education, or equivalent qualification – or demonstrable experience in highway civil engineering.Mobility across the operational area (or throughout Essex) with a valid driving licence.Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.At Ringway Jacobs we recognise that our people make the difference, and in order to do what we do well, particular care is taken in nurturing and investing in our people.
