ML Applications Engineer - Conversational AI at Arm. Are you interested in driving adoption of Conversational AI at the edge? Do you understand the challenges faced by the Machine Learning community? We are looking for an experienced Machine Learning Engineer with domain specialism in Conversational AI workloads to guide Arm's IP and tooling roadmaps on edge platforms. You will be part of a growing team investigating emerging use-cases for edge AI, including large models and workloads not usually found in edge devices today. Position is based in Cambridge, UK.

Responsibilities

  • Research latest model development trends in Conversational AI, replicating results and verifying performance capabilities
  • Evaluate latest training-time model compression techniques and analyse the effectiveness of ML tooling as applied to speech workloads
  • Research dataset availability challenges and work with ecosystem partners to enable access to a wide range of language support
  • Communicate reliable, robust research and analytics to inform future engineering and technology requirements, across a diverse audience within Arm
  • Help to grow the team and train others

Required Skills and Experience

  • University degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering or scientific discipline
  • Experience in training AI models for real-time conversational AI workloads
  • Experience in training-time model compression techniques such as quantisation aware training, model pruning or model distillation
  • Software development inside a machine learning training environment using Python
  • Knowledge of underlying DNN structures such as CNN, LSTM, Self Attention
  • Good interpersonal skills and confidence explaining complex results to non-technical audiences
  • Experience in coaching or mentoring others

Nice To Have Skills and Experience

  • Targeting ML models for latency-constrained or edge applications
  • Curating datasets for model finetuning or accuracy improvement
