Join our leading client as a Gas Quality Engineer and become part of a team that ensures industrial, medical and specialty gases are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards across the UK and beyond.

As a Gas Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining and verifying the quality of gas measurement systems for our clients customers. Your work will take you on-site across the UK, offshore and occasionally internationally, where no two days are the same.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Calibrating and validating gas quality instrumentation at customer sites, ensuring compliance with legislation and regulations
  • Collecting, analysing and interpreting data to produce high-quality technical reports, providing clear insights and confidence to customers
  • Preparing reference gas mixtures for on-site use, including safe transfer and verification of contents according to accredited procedures
  • Collaborating with Sales, Logistics and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Maintaining records and using our clients documentation systems in line with quality and technical processes

What Makes You a Standout Candidate:

We’re looking for someone with a “can-do” attitude who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys solving problems on the fly. You don’t need a degree – the right mindset and practical skills matter more.

Key traits include:

  • Strong academic foundation with good GCSEs and/or A-levels in Mathematics and Science (full technical training provided)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and colleagues
  • Confident, independent and collaborative – able to manage multiple priorities and tasks
  • Highly organised with attention to detail, particularly for planning site visits and reporting
  • Flexible and willing to travel extensively, including overnight stays offshore or abroad
  • A full UK driving licence and comfort with being on the road for extended periods

Who Would Excel in This Role:

  • People with on-the-road experience who are used to staying away from home
  • Individuals who enjoy problem-solving, thinking on their feet and adapting to changing environments
  • Hands-on, practical-minded candidates – one of our clients best employees was a plumber with a passion for cars and computers!
  • “Get-up-and-go” personalities who are motivated by variety, challenges and customer interaction

Why You’ll Love Working Here:

  • With our client, you’ll be part of a global company with a local impact. Their gases help save lives, reduce emissions and keep everyday industries running smoothly
  • Competitive salary of £27,950 plus excellent employee benefits (15.7% combined contributions)
  • Flexible working arrangements when handling reporting and admin tasks
  • A clear path for career progression, with limitless opportunities to grow globally
  • 25 days paid leave plus flexible leave options and wellbeing benefits
  • Recognition and reward programs celebrating your contributions
  • Work in an inclusive environment that values safety, integrity, and community.
