Overview

Equans is recruiting for a Mobile Fabric Engineer on the HMCTS contract based out of Slough County Court, covering various sites across the surrounding area. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

What will you deliver?

The primary purpose of the role is to carry out both planned and reactive maintenance on a wide variety of Fabric and limited Engineering Assets, ensuring all activities are completed in a safe and timely manner. Activities will include:

  • Inspect/repair floor, walls, ceilings and roofs
  • Inspect/repair free standing and fitted furniture
  • Inspect/clear drainage and gully systems
  • Inspect/replace lamps and tubes
  • Inspect/repair doors (including Fire Doors), windows and associated furniture
  • Legionella duties – tap temperatures and flushing
  • Painting, re-decorating and hanging of pictures/notices
  • Plantroom inspections and AHU filter changes
  • Reactive repairs and initial attendance for toilets, leaks and blockages
  • Assist engineering staff in a wide range of duties as required
  • Carry out reactive/Ad-Hoc activities – act as first response on site and take immediate action to make safe where appropriate
  • Escorting contractors

Who are we looking for?

  • Desirable NVQ (or equivalent) in Plumbing, Carpentry or Decorating Services
  • Demonstrable experience in carpentry, painting, plumbing or flooring in a construction, repair or maintenance environment
  • Good knowledge of Fire Door maintenance and inspection techniques
  • Understanding of Legionella control techniques (e.g., tap flushing)
  • UK Driving Licence
  • Enhanced security vetting process including a criminal records check may be required
