Overview

Mobile Gas Engineer – Oxford role at 14forty. Location: Oxford (3 hour radius) with some national travel required. Hours: 40 per week, Monday to Friday. Competitive hourly rate plus company van and tools.

What You’ll Be Doing

You won’t be tied to one site. You’ll play a key role in keeping critical systems up and running for our clients. Every day offers new challenges. You’ll be responsible for:

  • Servicing, maintaining, and repairing commercial and domestic gas heating systems
  • Reactive maintenance and fault-finding across client sites
  • Occasional install and upgrade projects
  • Undertaking planned preventive maintenance (PPM) tasks
  • Producing clear and accurate technical reports and service documentation
  • Ensuring all work complies with current gas legislation, safety standards, and site policies
  • Providing excellent on-site service and advice to clients
  • Supporting broader maintenance work within your remit when needed

Essential Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Gas Engineer
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Gas or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of current gas safety regulations and legislation
  • Proven experience across a range of commercial appliances
  • Solid understanding of fault-finding, diagnostics, and maintenance
  • Familiarity with heating controls, BMS, and plumbing
  • Full UK driving licence
