Job Title: Multi Skilled Engineer (Mechanical Bias)\n Business Unit: HCLS\n Contract: AstraZeneca\n Location: AstraZeneca, Central Cambridge\n Reports to: Site Supervisor\n\nRole Statement\n\nThe Multi Skilled Engineer (Mechanical Bias) is responsible for the effective day-to-day delivery of both planned and reactive maintenance tasks. The role involves supervising specialist subcontractors, ensuring compliance with all required documentation, and maintaining the highest standards of Health & Safety in line with QHSE guidelines.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nOperational Delivery\n\nMaintain QHSE documentation and ensure availability via client CAFM systems (e.g., Elogbooks, Hazard Reports, training & competency records, SAP, Prime).\n\nEnsure compliance with ISO 9001/14001 standards and all relevant Quality Management Systems.\n\nProactively identify and implement innovations to enhance performance and exceed client expectations.\n\nOrganise and carry out both reactive repairs and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) for site M&E systems, including:\n\nBMS, Fire Systems, Air Conditioning, Boilers, Pumps, Valves & Generators.\n\nUndertake reactive maintenance tasks as instructed by Contract Support/Management in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).\n\nPrioritise and delegate maintenance tasks to ensure optimal service delivery.\n\nEnsure all PPMs are delivered in accordance with task schedules.\n\nRespond promptly and effectively to all reactive maintenance issues and site requests.\n\nSupport installation and repair of plant equipment as required.\n\nProvide out-of-hours callout support and emergency cover when needed.\n\nHealth & Safety\n\nAdhere to Health & Safety policies at all times.\n\nEnsure compliance with all QHSE procedures, reporting, and risk assessments.\n\nPeople & Development\n\nAttend and participate in relevant training courses to maintain skills and compliance.\n\nFoster a customer-focused approach within all operational activities.\n\nMaintain effective relationships with key client contacts.\n\nRepresent the organisation professionally, promoting and maintaining its core values.\n\nDeliver services in line with company procedures and policies.\n\nSkills & Aptitudes\n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\n\nAbility to acquire and maintain knowledge of building operations and services.\n\nComfortable working outside of core discipline where necessary.\n\nConfident in client-facing situations, representing the business positively.\n\nPhysically fit; able to carry tools and components up to 20kg.\n\nCooperative, adaptable, and a strong team player
