Our client is a leading supplier of technologically advanced plant hire machinery, supporting the construction, rail, major project, and energy industries.
Due to continued growth, they are now looking for a Mobile Service Engineer - to cover Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex. This position is for a well-established company who believe in putting time into their employees to further their career with training and qualifications.
Mobile Plant Engineer Job Overview
This is a mobile based role
Carry out routine servicing of construction equipment in line with manufacturer schedules and specifications.
Monitor and top up lubricants and fluids as required.
Perform preventative maintenance checks and ensure equipment is operating safely.
Identify, report, and escalate faults promptly.
Clean, inspect, and prepare machinery for redeployment or transfer.
Fit and replace parts when necessary to keep equipment in optimal condition.
Work collaboratively with team members on larger repair and maintenance tasks.
Support the digital division with the installation of GPS systems, human-form recognition cameras, height and slew restrictors, and other innovative technologies as the role evolves (full training provided).
Mobile Plant Engineer Job Requirements
Strong mechanical knowledge with a practical, hands-on approach.
Good understanding of risk assessments and method statements.
Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Proactive, self-motivated, and driven to deliver high standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong time management with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Confident in using initiative to solve problems and support team objectives.
Experience of heavy plant and construction equipment and hydraulic systems
Experience of construction routine maintenance to a required level and standard
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in plant maintenance would be beneficial but not essential.
Mobile Plant Engineer Salary & Benefits
£17.00-£18.50 an hour dependant on experience.
5-hour week
Door to door pay
Overtime available and paid after the 42.5 hours
23 days holiday plus bank holiday.
