OverviewJoin to apply for the Multi Skilled Engineer- Plumbing Bias role at Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services.This is a field based, mobile position covering Scotland. We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic tradespeople to join our growing engineering family.Our Skilled Engineers are employed on work that is appropriate to their core and specialist skills. They will, however, be expected to have / acquire elements of other skills which will enable them to work flexibly across trades. Suitable training and up-skilling may be given, as and when required, to achieve competency and the ability to perform the responsibilities below. Working hours – core hours are 08:00 to 17:00, with some flexibility depending on circumstances.Main ResponsibilitiesProvide a reactive and planned pro-active maintenance (PPM) service as per project requirements to all operational assets.Provide a multi-skilled maintenance service, covering electrical, mechanical and building fabric disciplines.Carry out modifications and installations as required.Liaise with contractors or external suppliers and communicate technical issues clearly.Ensure work is carried out to a high standard of quality and in line with current legal standards, company policies and procedures.Maximise availability of mechanical and electrical equipment through continuous improvement, optimum performance, improved efficiencies and cost reductions.Maintain equipment with sound diagnostic and problem solving skills; raise issues with the shift supervisor promptly.Maintain, repair, and calibrate electrical, mechanical and instrumentation plant to optimise reliability and maintainability.Provide a service that ensures KPI/SLA targets are met.Take ownership of tools and equipment and ensure they are maintained to a standard; report defects immediately.Provide technical support/input to projects and initiatives.Ensure own work and work of those under supervision is completed safely and diligently.Provide regular feedback on issues arising before, during and after work activities.Complete required paperwork and reports accurately and on time.Complete required training and development to remain competent in the role.Complete other duties as required by the Regional Operations Supervisor or Management Team.Flexibility in work hours to cover holidays and sickness; participate in standby rota for emergency calls outside normal hours.Assist with business continuity planning for your area.Comply with Health, Safety & Environmental policies.Prepare RAMS and adhere to permits; maintain documentation as required.Provide excellent customer service to building occupants, keeping them informed of work progress.Proactively walk the floors and report maintenance or H&S issues to the helpdesk and appropriate manager.Health & SafetyFollow Group and company policies and procedures at all times.Report any deficiencies in systems or equipment that may impact service delivery, health, safety or the environment.Use all work equipment and PPE properly and per training.Report issues or training needs to your Line Manager via the divisional incident reporting system.Take personal responsibility for Health & Safety matters.What We Are Looking ForAll EngineersExperience of working within commercial properties and installations.Good understanding of current Health & Safety legislation and its application within the role.Ability to prioritise own workload; flexible and adaptable to changes in working hours.Pro-active, positive, self-motivated approach; good communication and team skills.Good knowledge of building statutory compliance.Must hold a full UK driving licence.Ability to record work accurately on worksheets and computer-based systems.Presentable and professional appearance; uphold company uniforms and PPE.Commitment to a safe working environment in line with Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and related requirements.HSE management in accordance with the Quality Management System and legal requirements.Provide excellent customer service and keep occupants informed of work progress.Ability to complete work correctly and right first time within predefined timescales.PlumbingNVQ Level 3 in Plumbing – Essential.Why you should work for usExciting opportunity to join the largest FM company in the UK.Opportunities for training, development, progression, and internal promotions.Discounts at various retailers through MiDeals and other benefits.Other benefits include virtual GP, Salary Finance, flexible lifestyle benefits platform Choices, extra holiday options, high street discounts, cycle-to-work, life cover, enhanced pension contributions, share plans, and opportunities to be recognised with Mitie Stars.We are committed to inclusive recruitment.
