Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer
to join our team. If you are a proactive, hands-on individual with a strong technical background and a keen eye for detail, this is your chance to play a key role in ensuring our new facility operates flawlessly. The Role
As a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer, you'll be responsible for the smooth operation of all mechanical, electrical, and building systems, including a wide range of laboratory equipment. You will carry out both routine and reactive maintenance, ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations. Your day-to-day will involve: Performing planned and reactive maintenance on various systems to ensure maximum operational efficiency.
Troubleshooting and repairing equipment, machinery, and facilities.
Maintaining detailed records of all maintenance activities.
Collaborating with other teams to identify maintenance needs and improve efficiency.
Participating in an
on-call rota
to provide out-of-hours emergency support.
Conducting regular inspections to prevent downtime.
About You
You are a highly skilled engineer with a broad knowledge of both mechanical and electrical systems, and you have experience in a lab environment or with high-end buildings. Essential Requirements: A degree or relevant qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Facilities Engineering (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent).
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment quickly and effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A flexible, can-do attitude and the ability to adapt to varying demands.
The ability to work autonomously and manage your time effectively.
Willingness to participate in the on-call rota with a one-hour response time.
Experience in a laboratory environment and/or with high-end buildings.
Desirable Skills: Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) or similar automated systems.
Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
