Our new, state-of-the-art research and development campus is located in the Oxford Science Park, set to open in 2027. This 300,000 sq ft facility will house cutting-edge research laboratories, an oncology clinic, and educational spaces, creating the perfect environment to translate pioneering science into high-impact solutions.

We are looking for a highly skilled and versatile Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team. If you are a proactive, hands-on individual with a strong technical background and a keen eye for detail, this is your chance to play a key role in ensuring our new facility operates flawlessly.

The Role

As a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer, you'll be responsible for the smooth operation of all mechanical, electrical, and building systems, including a wide range of laboratory equipment. You will carry out both routine and reactive maintenance, ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations.

Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Performing planned and reactive maintenance on various systems to ensure maximum operational efficiency.

  • Troubleshooting and repairing equipment, machinery, and facilities.

  • Maintaining detailed records of all maintenance activities.

  • Collaborating with other teams to identify maintenance needs and improve efficiency.

  • Participating in an on-call rota to provide out-of-hours emergency support.

  • Conducting regular inspections to prevent downtime.

About You

You are a highly skilled engineer with a broad knowledge of both mechanical and electrical systems, and you have experience in a lab environment or with high-end buildings.

Essential Requirements:

  • A degree or relevant qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Facilities Engineering (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent).

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment quickly and effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A flexible, can-do attitude and the ability to adapt to varying demands.

  • The ability to work autonomously and manage your time effectively.

  • Willingness to participate in the on-call rota with a one-hour response time.

  • Experience in a laboratory environment and/or with high-end buildings.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) or similar automated systems.

  • Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
