EQUANS are looking for a Multiskilled Technician (Fabric) working on behalf of Tameside General Hospital in Ashton-under-Lyne. This is a permanent full-time role, 37.5 hours per week. A competitive salary and benefits package is on offer.
Based at Tameside Hospital, the Multi-Skilled Technician will be responsible for the technical performance and maintenance of standards within the hospital. They will provide guidance to others on site, showing expertise in Building Fabric and Joinery maintenance, and ensure compliant solutions and efficient customer service delivery.
The Technician will have advanced technical knowledge in more than one skill or technology area.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prioritise and resource projects; ensure workload is delivered to customer specifications and agreed service requirements.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and company procedures; maintain up-to-date knowledge of H&S and environmental regulations; help achieve H&S targets.
- Diagnose, fault-find, commission systems and monitor facility performance through the PPM programme; identify any additional works required.
- Work under pressure, take ownership of problems and bring them to conclusion.
- Install, commission and maintain all plant, equipment and assets maintained by EQUANS.
- Work with the Fire Strategy to ensure building elements remain compliant with good industry practice.
- Assist with close-out of site inspections for decoration, building and fabric elements.
- Assist with lifecycle and major project schemes for pricing and refurbishment.
- Purchase/source replacement materials to keep stock levels sufficient.
- Support other Multi-Skilled Technicians to enable all PPMs/Reactive works to be completed.
- Flexible working hours as required.
- Administer and complete relevant paperwork; understand and meet ongoing customer requirements; develop relationships with partners, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Maintain a fair, consistent and courteous attitude at all times; hold a full driving licence; present a smart appearance and professional manner representative of EQUANS.
- Report all issues to the Team Leader/Technical Services Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
Required:
- Approved and formal apprenticeship in Joinery or relevant practical experience in a similar industry (advantageous).
- Sound awareness of risk assessment and working safely with equipment.
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety.
- Ability to measure, work to plans/method statements, and read technical diagrams.
Desirable:
- Experience of working within a PFI Healthcare environment.
- Experience with PPM & Reactive Works.
- Experience working with a Fire Strategy to ensure building elements (doors/walls/partitions and penetrations) remain compliant in line with good industry practice.
