About the Company



We’re looking for a hands-on Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering team. The role is key to keeping production running smoothly by focusing on planned preventative maintenance (PPM) while responding quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime. You’ll work across a wide variety of equipment including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities



  • Plan, schedule, and complete preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks to the highest standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults quickly to minimise downtime.
  • Support day-to-day engineering operations across production lines and site facilities.
  • Maintain engineering stock, tools, and consumables to 5S standards.
  • Champion Health & Safety and ensure compliance at all times.
  • Accurately complete PPM and CMMS documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and engineering projects.
  • Deliver maintenance KPIs agreed with the Engineering Manager.


Qualifications



  • Time-served apprenticeship or minimum NVQ Level 3 / ONC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3+ years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.


Required Skills



  • Proven experience in preventative and corrective maintenance within manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems (AC/DC motors, drives, control panels, hydraulics, pneumatics, three-phase).
  • Experience working with PPM schedules and CMMS systems.
  • Comfortable working as part of a small, multi-skilled maintenance team.
  • Organised approach, ensuring work areas and engineering stock are maintained to 5S standards.


Preferred Skills



  • Experience in glass manufacturing or related heavy industry.
  • Basic PLC fault-finding knowledge.
  • Lean / CI tools (5S, Kaizen, TPM, RCA).
  • IOSH / NEBOSH certification.


Pay range and compensation package
