Job title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £45,000 + overtime

Working hours: Monday to Friday day's - early and back shifts

Location: North Lanarkshire


Are you a skilled Maintenance Engineer with a passion for keeping things running like clockwork? We’re working with a leading food manufacturer who is looking to add a proactive, hands-on Maintenance Engineer to their growing engineering team in the Central Belt of Scotland.

The Role…

As Maintenance Engineer, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and improving production line efficiency. This will involve a mix of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive fault-finding, as well as supporting with new equipment installs and continuous improvement initiatives.

You’ll be working across multiple sites locally, so a full UK driving licence is essential.


What You’ll Be Doing…

  • Carrying out scheduled PPM to reduce unplanned downtime
  • Reacting quickly and effectively to machinery breakdowns
  • Supporting the installation and commissioning of new equipment
  • Driving continuous improvement across machinery performance and reliability
  • Working closely with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Ensuring all maintenance work complies with Health & Safety and Food Safety regulations (HACCP, GMP etc.)
  • Keeping clear records of maintenance activity, parts usage and equipment performance
  • Mentoring and supporting junior engineers and production staff on equipment use and best practice


What We’re Looking For…

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
  • Strong background in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (food industry experience ideal)
  • Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including PLC fault-finding, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Good communicator with a team-oriented approach
  • Knowledge of health & safety and food safety standards
  • Full UK driving licence (essential due to multi-site cover)
