London, United Kingdom (various locations mentioned in the posting) – shift-based role with 4 on / 4 off nights rotation. 4 to 6 weeks of training on days.

Overview

This role is a shift-based position that requires working on a 4 on / 4 off rotation. A van will be provided. You will be the point of contact for out of office. During training you will operate on days to get to know the site/client. This role supports 24hr cover for London contracts.

Responsibilities

• Undertake mechanical works on a wide range of building services reactive and planned maintenance.
• Work on shift basis to ensure 24hr cover for the London contracts, with mechanical support across sites.
• Maintain a high standard of planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Use diagnostic equipment and work from technical manuals and drawings.
• Identify visual plant defects, warning lights and indicators.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of building services and proficiency in maintenance of:
  • Power, distribution and switching
  • Motors controls
  • Lighting systems
  • Standby generators
  • Electrical test procedures and certification
  • Controls systems
  • Inverter operation and design
  • Fire alarm/PA systems

What We Are Looking For

• Experience of working within commercial properties and installations.
• Good understanding of current Health & Safety legislation and its application within the role.
• Ability to effectively prioritise own workload.
• Flexibility and adaptability to change / Flexible approach to work and hours (subject to the EU Working Time Directive).
• Pro-active and positive approach to work; self-motivated.
• Good knowledge of building statutory compliance.
• Must hold a full UK driver’s license.
• Ability to record work accurately on worksheets and computer-based systems.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work within a team.
• Professional appearance and adherence to company PPE/uniform standards.
• Commitment to safety and compliance with Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and related amendments.
• HSE management in accordance with our Quality Management System and statutory requirements.
• Provide excellent customer service to building occupants and update on work order progress in a timely manner.
• Able to complete tasks correctly and efficiently within predefined timescales.

Qualifications

• Electrical: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or Apprenticeship (Essential).
• 18th Edition (Essential).
• 2391-52 Testing and Inspection Qualification (Essential).

• Plumbing/Machanical: NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing (Essential).
