Naimuri - Full Stack Senior Software EngineerQinetiQ Greater Lincoln Area, United KingdomOverviewWe are seeking a talented and passionate Full Stack Software Engineer to join either a software delivery team which is already supporting, or about to start supporting projects initially within the Defence sector, but with opportunities to work in other sectors in the future.What You'll DoTake ownership of and lead on the development of application functionality and features.Collaborate closely with the technical lead, UX/UI designers and product owner to translate user stories into application features.Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and performant applications.Write clean, well-documented, and testable code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.Implement and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure application quality and reliability.Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring code quality.Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, frameworks, and best practices.Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and tools.Mentor junior engineers.We’re Looking For Someone WithBachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Proven professional experience as a Software Engineer or similar role (3-4+ years.)Strong background and experience in delivery through Agile methodologies.Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript.Experience of full stack developmentProficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git).Understanding of software development best practices, including testing, debugging, and performance optimization.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.It Would Be Advantageous If You Also HadPrior experience working in the Defence domain.Understanding and/or practical experience of working within Secure by Design (SbD) principles (ie/ JSP 440/604).Familiarity with AWS.Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG).Experience with React.Experience with Express.Experience with the Elastic stack.Experience with graph databases.Experience of e2e testing using Cypress or Playwright.Experience with CI/CD pipelines.Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.LocationOur Head Office is based in Salford Quays, Manchester, with satellite teams currently in London and Gloucestershire. We offer hybrid working where you can work from home for part of your working week with time on site being based on the needs of your assigned delivery and agreed Ways of Working for your team. This would normally be a maximum of one or two days per week but you would be welcome to spend more days in the office if you preferred.For this role, we would be interested to hear from applicants who may be based in other locations, therefore Greater Manchester, Portsmouth, Cambridgeshire or Malvern area.About YouWe’re looking for someone with strong experience in developing software solutions and a proven ability to deliver at pace. You should have some opinions on: What good code looks like (front end or back end); How to select appropriate technologies for a solution; How to spot smells in the code. Knowledge of developing on the cloud is preferred, although not essential. Solid fundamentals with software development, systems integration, problem solving, and teamwork pave the way. You might have a degree, it might be in a related field. You might not, and you can demonstrate how you’ve trodden the path for yourself.Pay And BenefitsNaimuri pays competitively within the industry based on your role\'s base location rates. The salary for this position is dependent upon your experience. We assess seniority relative to the team at Naimuri during the interviewing process.A full time working week is 37.5 hours and you have flexibility over when you give that time.
