Network Algorithm Systems Engineer/ Southampton / £53.50 per hour PAYE

Our client is seeking a Network Algorithm Systems Engineer to support cutting-edge research into the future of airborne mesh networks. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on innovative projects that push the boundaries of network design and communications technology.

You'll be part of a collaborative team, working alongside subcontractors and partners to explore novel networking algorithms and simulation techniques. The role offers a mix of technical challenge, strategic thinking, and the chance to make a real impact in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Research and evaluate different approaches to airborne mesh network design.

Analyse and adapt network protocols and routing algorithms to meet specific project needs.

Design and run simulations using third-party or bespoke tools.

Interpret results and propose improvements to network architecture.

Contribute to standardisation efforts and technical documentation.What We're Looking For

Solid understanding of networking protocols and their roles within the stack.

Ability to design meaningful experiments and interpret complex data.

Strong communication skills and the ability to present ideas clearly to varied audiences.

This is not an exhaustive list, and we are keen to hear from you even if you might not have experience in all the above. The most important skill is a good attitude and willingness to learn.

Must be eligible to undertake security vetting to SC level.Desirable Skills & Experience

Experience researching novel networking algorithms.

Familiarity with network simulation tools.

Knowledge of software engineering practices.

Understanding of wireless communications.This is a 6 month temporary role with the potential to extend.

Site based 37 hours per week with an early finish on a Friday.
