TJob Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer with deep expertise in EVPN/VMware NSX to join our dynamic IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all things NSX, playing a critical role in the design, implementation, and support of our software-defined networking (SDN) environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage VMware NSX environments (NSX-T and/or NSX-V).
- Act as the SME for NSX, providing technical leadership and guidance to internal teams.
- Integrate NSX with other VMware products (vSphere, vSAN, vRealize Suite).
- Develop and maintain network automation scripts and templates.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues across virtual and physical environments.
- Collaborate with security teams to implement micro-segmentation and Firewall policies.
- Document network designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering with a focus on VMware NSX.
- Proven expertise in VMware NSX-T (preferred) and/or NSX-V.
- Strong understanding of SDN, micro-segmentation, overlay networking, and network virtualization.
- Experience with EVPN/VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
- Proficiency in network protocols (BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, etc.).
- Familiarity with Firewalling, load balancing, and VPN technologies.
- Scripting skills in PowerCLI, Python, or similar for automation.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (vRealize, Splunk, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP-NV) or VMware Certified Implementation Expert (VCIX-NV).
- Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of Kubernetes networking and NSX Container Plug-in (NCP)
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
