Full training, PPE and use of company equipment will be provided to ensure that all our drainage engineers have the right tools, competency, and confidence to undertake the work to Lanes’ high standard of operation regardless of background or previous experience.Position: HGV Class 2 Drainage Engineer - NightsLocation: Beckton Depot, North London Region (Ilford, East London)Job Type: Permanent, full-timeHours: Monday to Friday nights, 40 hoursSalary: OTE £50,000 per annum (basic pay, overtime, on-call allowance and bonuses)Benefits: 21 days holiday (including bank holidays); health cash plan; free onsite parking; auto-enrolment pension scheme; friendly working environment.About The RoleDue to continued growth and development, we are looking for customer-focused people to join our Utility Division, working on our Thames Water contract service to deliver effective solutions to wastewater network and drainage problems.ResponsibilitiesTravel to residential sites via a HGV in a two-person team, operating a high-pressure water jet for restorationClean, clear and maintain drainage systemsRecord each job correctly on the specialist equipment providedRun diagnostics and repairs on drainsDeliver good customer serviceMaintain health and safety practices while carrying out worksEnsure vehicle stock is full and replenishedComply with health and safety responsibilities (PPE, safe site setups)Utilise VISTEC and Salesforce platformsOperate JHL specification vacuum tankers and related equipmentAccess vehicle cabs, sites and offices safely (three points of contact)Handle flexible pipework safely using correct manual techniquesWork unsupervised in all weather conditions with appropriate PPE or lone worker systemRisk assess site access and working conditions on arrivalLiaise with the client regarding process and updatesProvide support to colleaguesInspect tools, equipment and plant before and after use; report defectsCarry out risk assessments; uphold Lanes Group policiesPerform any other reasonable tasks or duties as requested by managementFull training is provided.Qualifications & RequirementsMinimum of HGV Class 2 licenceCertificate of Professional Competence (CPC)Up-to-date Digi-Tacho CardExperience with High Pressure Jetting equipment is useful but not essentialOther drainage qualifications (e.g., NRSWA and Confined Spaces) are advantageousAbout YouThe ideal candidate will be hard-working, respectful and compliant with health and safety standards.We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace and welcome applications from all backgrounds.We are a signatory of the Charter for Employer Positive About Mental Health run by Mindful Employer.
