JOB SUMMARY My client is currently seeking a Nightshift Maintenance Engineer to undertake PPM maintenance tasks and reactive tasks as directed by the Engineering Supervisor.
Work shift: 7pm to 7am, 4 on 4 off Location: Canary Wharf MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES The Nightshift Maintenance Engineer will be required to identify and diagnose faults and to carry out repairs, adjustments and other maintenance works as appropriate. To carry out the required routine servicing, repair or adjustment of plant or machinery in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule as tasked by the Engineering Supervisor To adopt a flexible approach in respect of other skills or trades to ensure the most cost effective completion of all tasks. To undertake other skilled tasks in which competence has been demonstrated. To monitor plant as tasked and to record data using the supplied documentation. To achieve the highest possible standard of plant and equipment efficiency by ensuring that each task is carried out in accordance with the set requirements and instructions. To assist in ensuring that all working areas are kept clean and tidy and all refuse and waste materials are removed as appropriate. To be thoroughly familiar and comply with the Company's "Health & Safety" policy and procedures and to immediately report any hazards or infringements to either the Building Services Manager or Engineering Supervisor. To action and complete time/task sheets on a daily basis in accordance with agreed procedures. To undertake other reasonable duties as requested by the Building Services Manager or Engineering Supervisor PERSON SPECIFICATION In order to qualify for Night Shift Maintenance Engineer (shift worker) status the person must be working unsupervised on a regular night shift, continental shift or equivalent and will do so on an ongoing basis. Time served in a recognised electrical, electronic, or mechanical apprenticeship together with relevant City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or an equivalent qualification is essential. Previous experience in a multi-disciplined operations/maintenance team in a new technology building. Particular emphasis on working with minimum supervision. Previous experience on HVAC systems and chillers. Applicants will have successfully completed the following courses: (If the applicant is external, the courses must be successfully completed within the first six months of employment). Strategies for Personal Success (previously known as Key Manager Programme) IOSH Managing Safely C&G Water Treatment Relevant Emergency Procedures Insurance Impairment Procedures The successful applicant will be self starting and motivated to work under their own initiative. Ability to lead a small team as the responsible shift engineer and to provide instruction and advice in the absence of line supervisor. Institute of Electrical Electricians 18th Edition (if applicable).
