Role focus: Safety Case Expert in our Nuclear Team. This role supports multi-disciplinary projects across the lifecycle, from client consultancy to comprehensive turn-key solutions. You will contribute to growing our nuclear offering with vision, passion, and a proven track record.
You will work with clients, partners, and contractors to communicate and coordinate across project stages, supporting delivery from concept through to completion—including design, procurement, subcontracting, factory acceptance, installation, site acceptance, and commissioning.
This position is ideal for an engineer with experience in safety case development who can contribute to a range of high-profile projects and develop expertise while working with seasoned professionals.
Responsibilities
- Leadership & Management:
- Support the nuclear portfolio in AECOM (Civil and Defence) as a safety case assistant.
- Help maintain resource competence (SQEP).
- Technical Delivery:
- Support efforts to win work related to nuclear safety.
- Support safety case delivery on projects.
- Maintain client relationships to achieve a "right first time" approach for technical delivery.
- Development & Knowledge Sharing:
- Contribute to the development of nuclear safety training and multidisciplinary knowledge sharing initiatives.
- Stay informed of new developments affecting the organization and recommend changes in approach and best practice.
Qualifications
- Experience: Experience in developing nuclear safety cases within the nuclear sector, with a willingness to build on this knowledge through mentoring and hands-on project work.
- Teamwork: Able to work effectively within a team and contribute to the delivery of engineering work packages under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Project Involvement: Experience supporting various stages of the project lifecycle, with a developing understanding of end-to-end project delivery.
- Communication: Capable of preparing technical documentation and contributing to technical discussions; willing to present work to peers and receive feedback to support continuous improvement.
You will also be self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously when required, with a strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn, and a desire to work in a dynamic, deadline-driven team environment.
Desired qualifications
- MEng/BEng in Science or Engineering subject (or equivalent)
- Working towards Chartership
Security Clearance
