This Nuclear Safety Case Engineer role sits within the Sizewell C Design Authority. Reporting to the Safety Case Group Leads, the Safety Case Engineer will lead the development of various nuclear safety cases, including SZC’s first top-level safety case, the Pre-Construction Safety Report (PCSR). We have several vacancies in the Safety Case Branch of SZC Design Authority. We welcome applicants with safety case experience from a wide range of high regulated industries. Additional relevant skills include safety analyses, design and engineering substantiation, ALARP, fault studies, and more. Key Responsibilities Include

Own the safety case during the design and construction phases, advising internal and external regulators and the responsible designer on its adequacy. Lead PCSR section development, including strategy setting, team management, and progression through the safety case lifecycle (authoring, peer review, verification, regulatory review and approval). Act as an intelligent customer for the safety case through undertaking technical oversight over the licensing, procurement, manufacture, construction, commission and operation phases of the station lifecycle. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including internal teams and external partners, including regulator. Maximise the benefits of replication from Hinkley Point C to Sizewell C. Skills, Qualification And Experience
