We are looking for an Obsolescence Engineer to join our Christchurch, Dorset team!

As an Obsolescence Engineer for our Christchurch location, you will be involved in maintaining and de-risking the future of our products. This could include instigating Last Time Buys, or finding modern alternatives which can be fitted with a minimum disruption to our manufacturing of Agency Approvals.

Monitor an Obsolescence register and pro-actively address issues before they become a problem.

Find alternative components and validate them for specific applications.

Load and maintain BoMs (Bills of Materials) onto a third-party obsolescence tool.

Attend regular meetings and report on progress.

Good organisational skills, capable of working in a methodical, structured way.

Methodical approach to problem solving.

Practical, “hands-on” engineering skills - an electronic specialist, but with an aptitude for other disciplines (e.g., Mechanical Engineering).

A flexible approach to working - Able to adapt to situations as part of a dynamic team.

A good communicator, working as part of our Obsolescence Team.

A self-starter, able to assimilate issues and progress them with a minimum of supervision.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Access, Outlook).
