O&M Assistant Engineer – East Anglia Offshore Windfarm, Lowestoft

Salary from £42,000 with up to 10% Annual Bonus and Single Healthcare. Permanent. Closing Date: Friday 3rd October 2025.

Overview

As O&M Assistant Engineer, you will support the Offshore O&M Operations Engineering team in delivering operations and maintenance objectives specifically related to Telecoms, SCADA and control & monitoring systems across UK offshore wind farm assets. You will actively collaborate across the broader business, engaging with project services, local O&M teams and key stakeholders in SCADA and Cybersecurity, operating under the direction of Senior and Lead Engineers and coordinating with cross‑functional teams to ensure Operational Technologies (OT) are maintained effectively by recognised industry best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Understand O&M site requirements and the importance of maintaining critical infrastructure to protect activities and systems in operations; perform monitoring checks on various systems to maintain availability, reporting issues and escalating any issues to Senior and/or Lead Engineers.
  • Support and troubleshoot with external suppliers; update documentation for clarity and accountability; support Continuous Improvements by identifying opportunities to optimise workflows, enhance OT system resilience and contribute to strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain coordination and the sharing of best practice with other Iberdrola, ScottishPower businesses and cyber security governance groups; provide project level delivery of Cyber Security solutions whilst working with the central cyber security teams to implement cyber strategies at site.

What you’ll bring

  • Knowledge within a relevant area of technical speciality such as IT/OT Networking & Cyber Security (minimum).
  • A degree in Electronics, Networking or within a related discipline is optional.
  • Knowledge and awareness of operational SCADA systems, security standards including ISO 27000 series and ISA/IEC 62443 series; awareness of the UK NIS Regulations 2018 and equivalent European legislation.
  • High IT literacy with experience and understanding of technical due diligence.
  • Flexibility to travel around Europe; available to travel regularly to attend meetings and work at different project sites in northern Europe (Germany, France, Denmark, Spain and England).
  • Knowledge and experience of Engineering contracts; foreign language skills in Spanish, French and/or German are advantageous.
