Role: Optical CAE Engineer / Automotive Lighting Photometry Engineer

Location: Gaydon, UK

Duration: 12 months Fixed term employment

Skills & Experience

• Extensive expertise in photometry, lighting measurement, and optical validation.
• Strong ability to conceptualize and visualize automotive lighting designs.
• Demonstrated experience in photometric and optical measurement of automotive lighting components.
• Solid understanding of LED light source selection and PCBA layout design.
• Familiarity with emerging trends and technologies in automotive lighting.
• Hands-on experience and sound knowledge of goniometers, spectrometers, and imaging colorimeters.
• In-depth understanding of automotive lighting systems, including headlamps, tail lamps, interior lighting, ambient lighting, displays, and switch packs.
• Proficient in interpreting supplier optical reports, technical drawings, and electrical circuit diagrams.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Experience working in a CAD-based design environment is highly desirable.

Qualifications

Minimum B.E./B. Tech in Mechanical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related discipline with relevant experience.
