Job Description:

Here at Leonardo, circuit boards are central to our products. We are looking for a layout engineer to join our team and work on this essential aspect of our development.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge PCB designs across various technologies, including multi-layer analogue, high-speed digital, power, and specialist communications and interfaces at ultra-high frequencies of 40GHz and beyond.

What you’ll do as a PCB Layout Engineer:

You will collaborate with hardware and RF engineers on various projects to develop innovative PCB layouts, starting from schematic import, component creation, and placement. You will route high-speed power and mixed signals for thermal management and electromagnetic compatibility. Your responsibilities include finalizing designs with accurate documentation (Gerbers, assembly drawings, BOMs). You will utilize and develop your skills with the latest Siemens toolchain, adhering to current defence and industry standards to ensure optimal performance and manufacturability.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to Leonardo, with the flexibility to work largely remotely. Occasional travel to the Basildon site is required.

What you’ll bring:

Candidates should be familiar with industry-standard ECAD tools for PCB design; experience with Siemens EDA Xpedition is desirable but training will be provided.
