Responsibilities

  • Provide piping engineering input for industrial plant and machinery across concept design, detailed design and construction stages as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the Approval Authority.
  • Directly support current operations and future programmes.
  • Assess plant and equipment design to withstand hazards and perform pipe stress analysis.
  • Author and produce robust technical justification and supporting documentation to allow design modifications to be authorised within a high-hazard industry.
  • Collaborate on multi-discipline projects, providing engineering input, ideally within industrial and/or maritime contexts.

Qualifications

  • Experienced Piping Engineer with knowledge of industrial plant and machinery.
  • Knowledge of current design standards and working practices including British & European Standards.
  • Theoretical and practical experience across concept design, detailed design and construction stages for electrical engineering projects (ideally including industrial and/or maritime).
  • Experience in design assessment of plant and equipment to withstand hazards.
  • Experience in pipe stress analysis.
  • Experience in authoring and providing robust technical justification and supporting documentation for design modifications in high-hazard environments.
  • Experience working on multi-discipline projects providing engineering input (ideally within industrial and/or maritime).

Location

The role is hybrid where 3 days per week will be spent either in the office in Glasgow City Centre or at site in Helensburgh.

Security Requirements

SC Clearance. Due to the secure nature of this project, restrictions in relation to UK residency and nationality will apply.
