The Job Mission As a Piping Layout Engineer , you will play a key role in supporting the Hinkley Point C (HPC) project . You will be responsible for assessing, reviewing, and optimizing the piping layout design to support construction activities, ensuring compliance with design standards and site requirements.
Your future team's key missions:
Evaluate layout impacts of site requests and design modifications.
Produce technical assessments and justifications for piping layout solutions.
Develop and modify 3D models using E3D/PDMS to support layout design.
Ensure compliance with installation tolerances and construction constraints.
Coordinate with other disciplines (Mechanical, Civil, Structural) on layout interfaces.
Liaise with design back-office teams and site construction teams to resolve layout issues.
Initiate change processes to implement approved layout modifications.
Report progress and challenges to the Layout Team Lead, raising any technical concerns.
Qualifications
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Extensive experience as a Piping Layout Engineer in heavy industrial sectors (Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Steel Manufacturing, or similar).
Proficiency in E3D/PDMS for 3D piping layout design and visualization.
Strong understanding of plant layout engineering and general layout rules.
Ability to assess and resolve layout-related site requests .
Strong problem-solving skills with experience in multi-discipline coordination .
Qualified to Degree Level (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Desired Skills
Experience working on nuclear projects and understanding of nuclear safety principles .
Knowledge of UK regulatory processes and nuclear design context.
Familiarity with other 3D/2D software used in plant layout engineering.
