Position: Planning Engineer\n\nLocation: Derby with hybrid working available\n\nSalary: £45-52k (Neg DOE), and excellent benefits package\n\nThe Role: Our client is delivering on behalf of Severn Trent Water one of the largest and most varied water infrastructure improvement programmes in the UK.\n\nOur client is looking to strengthen their Planning team with a Project Planner/Planning Engineer. Based in the Severn Trent region, you will report directly to the Planning Manager.\n\nTheir programme of work, across a variety of water and wastewater schemes, is expected to be in the region of £ 150m/yr.\n\nResponsibilities: Core responsibilities are to build, update, amend and report Project Programmes using Primavera P6 software. Working with Senior Planners the client can offer coaching and guidance for your ongoing development into a planning expert and help drive outperformance amongst the team.\n\nDirectly support their Project Managers and Project Teams by delivering high quality and detailed P6 Programmes that support efficient project delivery.\n\nDevelop and maintain project plans through reliable project management methodologies with assurance of baseline scheduling.\n\nEnable project management to control the progress of contracts by identifying and producing integrated programmes of work (design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover), monitoring performance against plans and identifying problem areas and potential early warnings.\n\nHelp the project team minimise risk by identifying the critical path for projects.\n\nSupport project and programme level reporting to enhance the information and intelligence available for business planning.\n\nLead the planning section at project progress review meetings.\n\nEssential Experience: Project Planning experience on a variety of project sizes.\n\nTechnical capabilities using Primavera P6 and MS Project.\n\nExcellent communication skills for effective collaboration with project teams.\n\nAnalytical and problem-solving skills to monitor and control project deviations.\n\nAppropriate professional qualifications relevant to the Planner role\n\nBasic understanding of the NEC contract and its Project Planning requirements.\n\nDesirable Experience: Infrastructure and/or water industry experience.\n\nExperience contributing to project review presentations whilst confidently presenting planning information to project stakeholders.\n\nConstruction, civil engineering, M&E or related building experience.\n\nAcademic qualifications in a construction or infrastructure related subject.\n\nExperience using Power BI and/or similar project reporting software.\n\nTechnical degree beneficial but not mandatory.\n\nProject management and project delivery experience.\n\nPackage includes: A competitive salary\n\nHybrid Working (Jobs needs dependent)\n\nCar/car allowance (Jobs needs dependent)\n\n25 days holiday + Bank Holidays (with an additional 5 days available to buy)\n\nContribution Pension scheme\n\nLife Assurance\n\nHealth Insurance\n\nPrivate Medical Insurance\n\nAnd many more benefits including - cycle to work scheme, discounts and savings Hub, Kids Pass etc\n\nKey Words:\n\nPlanning Engineer\n\nPlanner\n\nProject Planner\n\nSenior Planner\n\nSenior Planning Engineer\n\nSenior Project Planner\n\nConstruction\n\nProject Programmes\n\nP6 Programmes\n\nProject Delivery\n\nProject Plans\n\nWater Industry\n\nWater Sector\n\nWater Treatment\n\nClean Water\n\nSewage\n\nWastewater\n\nWaste Water\n\nUtilities\n\nHighways\n\nPower\n\nEnergy\n\nNuclear\n\nEnergy from Waste\n\nRail\n\nInfrastructure\n\nPrimavera\n\nP6 \n\nSevern Trent Water\n\nUnited Utilities\n\nStaffordshire Water\n\nVeolia\n\nAMP 7\n\nAMP 8\n\nNEC
