Position Overview

As a Preventative Maintenance Engineer, you will collaborate closely with our controller to maximize the operational availability of our equipment. Your expertise will help identify potential issues and carry out minor repairs, all while serving as a safety ambassador for our customers.

Your Responsibilities

In this exciting role, you will:

• Perform Preventative Maintenance Servicing: Conduct routine servicing of equipment according to manufacturer guidelines, including taking routine oil samples (75% of your time).
• Conduct Machine Inspections: Carry out visual and mechanical analyses to identify developing issues in hydraulic, electrical, powertrain, and mechanical systems (20% of your time).
• Execute Minor Repairs: Complete minor repairs identified during inspections, install telematic systems, and conduct undercarriage inspections (5% of your time).

Working Conditions

This is a field-based role, and it’s essential that all drivers have held a full driving license for at least 2 years. (Eligibility will be subject to a full DVLA license check)

Working Hours: 43 hours per week with flexible start and finish times. Your working pattern will be Monday to Friday, with one Saturday every three weeks at an overtime rate.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• A basic knowledge of the four main product elements: Engines, Hydraulics, Powertrain, and Vehicle Electrics/Electronics.
• Experience in a related engineering function (around 3 years), such as car mechanic, HGV fitter, or Agricultural Engineer. Former REME experience or military vehicle experience is a plus.
• A formal apprenticeship qualification that includes at least C&G level 1. Health & Safety training is desirable but not essential, as further training will be provided.
