Ref: 2441If you want to work for a business who are leading the way in supporting the marine sector to become carbon neutral whilst working in a fantastic office with views of the sea, this is the place for you.Control Systems Engineer - The Role:Design, develop, and maintain advanced PLC-based control systems with a focus on reliability, performance and maintainabilityProgram control systems using Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 and Siemens TIA Portal, with structured text and object-oriented programming principlesCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, and software) to ensure seamless integration and deployment of control solutionsCommission systems in production environments and support smooth handovers to production and service teamsProvide remote support where required and occasional on-site visits for commissioning or operational reviewControl Systems Engineer - The Person:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or a related field (Master’s)Proven expertise in PLC programming, with experience in Beckhoff (TwinCAT 3) or Siemens (TIA Portal) environmentsExperience of structured text and object-oriented programmingExperience developing modular, maintainable code with a focus on long-term supportabilityProficient with version control systems, especially Git with Git Flow practicesExperience in code peer review processes, technical documentation and system handoverKnowledge of marine or offshore control systems, and an understanding of the challenges of supporting systems in remote or autonomous environmentsStrong understanding of electronic drive systems, sensors, and actuatorsExperience with Hydraulic or Pneumatic systemsExperience with programming safety PLCs and implementing safety-critical functionsLocated on the South Coast, this role would be commutable from Portsmouth, Fareham, Port Solent, Portsmouth & Southampton.
