see below ) Job Role: Machine Tool Electrical Design and PLC support Engineer Location: Based in Brighouse ( HD6 ) but occasional travelling throughout the UK ( Realistically, they need to live within
hour daily travelling each way as you will befactory based. Whats in it for you? As a Machine Tool Electrical Design and PLC support Engineer youll play a key part in a small, customer facing team which is crucial to the business and its on going successes. It is envisaged that the role will involve most of the time being based in the office supporting our engineers and customers in the field, however we intend to grow our refurbishment side of the business and this may involve more time out on customer sites discussing requirements and commissioning projects on site. hours per week (Monday to Thursday 8.00 to 16.30 Friday 8.00 to 15.00 ( hour lunch break ) Holidays 25 days + bank holidays ( 33 days total ) Pension Contributory Salary Sacrifice ( Minimum contribution 4% Company 4% employee ) Company corporate clothing Life insurance Opportunity for career development About you - You must be comfortable to work with a variety of customer, from small subcontract engineering machine shops to large Blue Chip national and international engineering companies. - You should have good organisational and strong interpersonal skills plus formal technical qualifications and should be able to demonstrate your experience within this field. - Your time management should be good with a desire to put the customer first but also to have a good work
life balance. - You must be comfortable both working on your own at a customer site and working as part of a small team including socialising with them in the event of stopping away from home. - You should be prepared to stop away from home for a number of nights as the job requires ( occasional weekend working may be required ) - A desire to learn and grow with the company The Role The role covers our existing machines in the field. - Initially it is envisaged that this will be working with customers and engineers office based on the phone with occasional on site work to diagnose and correct electrical and PLC software issues encountered with our existing machine relating to the interface with the control system and drives. - Assisting the service manager with customer enquiries and acquiring quotations for parts from suppliers as well as quoting these to customers. - We intend to grow the retrofit side of our business providing new electrical panels and updated CNC systems for our existing machines. - Ability to back up control system software using various PC software packages (dependant on system fitted to the machine). - The role is based at our premises in Brighouse West Yorkshire ( HD6 ), however, your working location can be flexible throughout the UK depending on the requirement of the role. - There may occasionally be a requirement to travel abroad for short periods. - As you are the face of the Company, you must present a confident can do attitude. - You will be expected to comply with all Health and Safety regulations of the company. - To support the Company in securing more potential business, by identifying and submitting engineer leads for new service contracts or opportunities for additional spares, service or refurbishment work. - Drive the implementation of engineering best practice procedures and maximise both effectiveness and efficiency within the job. - To handle any challenging situations with customers in a professional and courteous manner at all times. Skills/qualifications - Recognised Engineering apprenticeship. - Essential you will have a valid UK driving license
( Clean Preferred ) - Experience in dealing with both Manual and Computer Numerically Controlled Milling Machinery. - Fault diagnosis of both Electrical and Machine PLC Software problems on Machine tools. - Knowledge of Heidenhain, Siemens and Fanuc PLC logic including its interrogation and modification. - Experience in writing PLC software for Heidenhain, Siemens and Fanuc controls - recent Heidenhain 620/640 controls in particular. - The ability to work independently or as part of a team. - Excellent attention to detail and enjoy problem solving. - The ability to read and understand Hydraulic schematic drawings and electrical schematics. - A basic knowledge of Mechanical and Hydraulic work together with an aptitude for practical work. - The desire to gain knowledge. - NVQ or Higher in an Engineering subject (Preferred). - Good computing skills ( Microsoft Office, Autocad etc) - Electrical drafting and PLC software writing experience Education: - NVQ in engineering subject or equivalent (Preferred) - HNC / HND / Degree in Electrical engineering would be beneficial
