Overview

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic band 6 podiatrist to join our friendly and experienced community podiatry team. The successful candidate will be working in a variety of settings across Sutton Health and Care and will manage a mixed caseload including routine and high risk patients, within clinics and on domiciliary visits. You will undertake basic biomechanical assessments and treatments, and participate in the nail surgery rota.

Responsibilities

  • Work across a variety of sites including clinics and patients’ homes, GP practices, community hospitals and within challenging conditions, often working in isolation.
  • Assess, diagnose, develop treatment plans and provide effective podiatric treatments using a problem-solving approach based on clinical need and evidence-based practice.
  • Commit to the philosophy of care with an emphasis on patient empowerment and independence by providing education and information to help patients manage their own foot needs.
  • Manage clinical risk within your own patient caseload and seek guidance as appropriate.
  • Adhere to relevant Trust Policies and Guidelines and Professional standards of care.
  • Participate in basic biomechanical assessments and treatments and take part in the nail surgery rota as required.

Team and Development

You will be part of a supportive and collaborative team with strong relationships with services including the Threatened Limb Service, MSK, District Nursing, Tissue Viability, Orthopaedics and Rheumatology. You will be supported and encouraged, where possible, to continue learning and develop your career and clinical skills in areas of interest.
