Job Description:

This Principal Electrical Engineer/Technical Director role involves joining the Leeds office of a water industry consultancy. The company collaborates with water authorities, Environment Agency, and Flood Authorities, offering diverse projects beyond AMP 8 duties. You will bring HV, LV, and controls expertise in water, battery storage, or similar industries, supporting less experienced engineers and leading schemes. The role includes producing electrical layouts for substations (AIS / GIS up to 400kV), cable routes, LV layouts, switch and control room equipment, and site earthing layouts. You will be client-facing, mentoring, and innovative. A good understanding of engineering standards such as ENATS 41-24, NGTS RES i3, BS 50522, BS7430, G81 standards, and DNO equipment registers is essential. You must be Chartered or working towards it, with experience in primary electrical design within a consultancy, contractor, or utility in the Power industry, including designing electrical layouts for substations and distribution networks at 11kV, 22kV, 33kV, 66kV, and 132kV.
