Ideally based locally within the region at our Cambridge or Hertford office. This role is available on either a full-time or part-time basis.Your RoleDevelop professional and technically competent reports, liaise with specialists and clients primarily within the highways sector, utilizing efficient working practices to provide industry-leading, best-value services.Manage and deliver project work with robust financial management.Assist in managing team resources and project allocations.Lead, motivate, mentor, and develop professional staff.Support all aspects of project delivery, including client liaison, contractor and sub-consultant coordination, public and statutory consultations, quality control, and management of specialists.What We SeekTechnical expertise in geotechnical engineering with a solid understanding of underlying principles.Basic design skills for common solutions like retaining walls, foundations, and slope stabilization.Consultancy experience with good commercial awareness and relationships within the highways sector.Chartered or near-chartered professional qualification preferred.Experience in delivering geotechnical projects, including report preparation at a high technical level.Ability to understand client requirements and influence contract specifications.Experience in leading or being part of effective delivery teams from inception to construction.Excellent report-writing and client liaison skills.Proven experience managing geotechnical desk studies, ground investigations, and design reports in accordance with Eurocode 7 : Part 1.Knowledge of Eurocode 7, UK design codes, ground investigation, and construction contracts and specifications.Experience interfacing with National Highway's standards and operations teams.Familiarity with geotechnical software for designing foundations, retaining walls, earthworks, and slope stability.Ability to critically evaluate work by others, including drawings, calculations, and reports.If you don't meet all criteria, apply anyway—your experience might align well with this role or others within our team.Join UsImagine a better future for yourself and for us all.
