OverviewWe are looking to appoint a forward-thinking and solution focused Principal Building Services Engineer (Mechanical). This role is to join our dynamic team based in our Nottingham office.You will be delivering exceptional technical and commercial solutions to a range of clients across the private and public sector; including education, custodial, defence, healthcare, leisure, data and commercial. You will be part of a national team with valuable training, guidance and genuine scope for career development.ResponsibilitiesDelivering portfolios of work across both the private and public sector, managing various contracts throughout.Preparing designs, feasibility studies, technical reports, and contract documents.Carrying out building analysis and providing system design calculations.Liaising directly with Clients and Contractors.Ensuring projects are delivered accurately and on time.Providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and graduate trainees.Compliance with Health & Safety requirements, practices and procedures.Ideal qualificationsHND/Degree in Building Services Engineering (Mechanical) or a related discipline, or equivalent professional qualification.Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng), or working towards this status.Significant experience in mechanical building services/HVAC design, including domestic water services, ventilation, heating, and cooling.Strong working knowledge of IES, Hevacomp, and AutoCAD; experience with Revit MEP is desirable.Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, including UK Building Regulations, as well as Low/Zero Carbon Technologies and BREEAM.In-depth understanding of construction industry design processes and procurement arrangements.Proven design skills across a range of sectors.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and self-motivated approach.Experience in resource planning and management.Business development experience and the ability to build strong client relationships.Ambition and capability to develop your career within a people-focused, client-driven consultancy.What we offerAgile working.Career and Professional Development.Corporate Social Responsibility opportunities.26 days’ annual leave + Bank Holidays + option to buy up to 5 days’ additional leave.Private healthcare, life assurance and healthcare cash plan.Stakeholder pension.Professional subscriptions.Employee Discount Scheme.Eyecare Scheme.Wellbeing support and Employee Assistance Programme.Equal OpportunitiesAs an equal opportunities’ employer, Pick Everard is committed to the equal treatment of all current and prospective employees and does not condone discrimination on the basis of age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race or ethnicity, religion or belief, gender identity, or marriage and civil partnership.
