Join the Jacobs Water and Environment team as a Principal Civil Design Engineer - Water. You will contribute to the UK and Ireland water sector, supporting strategic partnerships with major water companies and delivering projects across feasibility, planning, design, construction, operations and maintenance within a multi-year framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary civil engineering projects from concept to completion.
  • Deliver innovative and sustainable design solutions across water infrastructure.
  • Oversee technical delivery, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive project success.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
  • Demonstrate exemplary behaviour in health, safety and wellbeing management in line with Jacobs’ BeyondZero approach.
  • Foster relationships with existing water clients to support growth.

What You'll Need

  • Extensive progressive experience in civil engineering, with expertise in detailed design and design-and-build on water and wastewater projects.
  • Strong grasp of civil engineering principles and project lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with UK water sector regulations and safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Member of ICE or CIWEM.
  • Robust understanding of current health, safety and welfare legislation.
  • Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
