This growing consultancy is expanding its Drainage and Infrastructure team and is looking for a Principal Civil Design Engineer to lead projects, drive business development, and shape the future of the design capability.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer who thrives on responsibility, enjoys building client relationships, and wants to play a key role in securing and delivering high-quality infrastructure and drainage projects.ResponsibilitiesLead the delivery of drainage and infrastructure design projects from concept through to completionDevelop new business opportunities and support bid preparationBuild strong relationships with clients, regulators, SuDS approval bodies, and drainage adoption authoritiesManage project budgets, timelines, and commercial performanceProvide mentorship and technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineersContribute to knowledge-sharing through internal training and presentationsOversee the production of Flood Risk Assessments, drainage strategies, sewer adoption packages, and associated technical reportsWhat You’ll Bring / QualificationsIn-depth knowledge of drainage design principles and standards, including SuDSExperience with the drainage adoption process and securing technical approvalsProficiency in relevant software such as Causeway Flow or MicroDrainageA solid understanding of national and local flood risk policyExperience managing bids, budgets, and multi-disciplinary project teamsA passion for mentoring and developing junior engineersStrong communication skills for both internal collaboration and external client engagementQualificationsDegree in Civil Engineering or equivalent vocational qualificationProgression toward (or achievement of) Chartered status with ICE or CIWEMBenefitsAn excellent compensation package on the market including base salaryFlexible/hybrid working25 days annual leave with the option to buy or sell up to 5 daysCompany pension schemeProfessional membershipPrivate healthcare optionsHow to applyIf this sounds like it would be of interest, please call Will Herman on 07581619823.Aldwych Consulting values diversity and promotes equality.
