About the role
At BakerHicks, our Power team is helping to shape the future of energy infrastructure across the UK. From substations and energy storage to transmission upgrades and sustainable power projects, our work is technically challenging, meaningful and growing fast.
We’re looking for a Chartered Civil Engineer to join us, bringing your expertise to complex projects that keep the country running. This is a chance to use your chartership experience on nationally significant infrastructure, working with multi-disciplinary teams who share your drive for engineering excellence.
What you’ll be doing
Leading civil engineering design and delivery on power projects
Providing technical expertise across concept, design and construction phases
Collaborating with structural, electrical and project management teams
Ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations and client requirements
Supporting the development of junior engineers and contributing to a culture of technical excellence
What we’re looking for
Chartered status with ICE, CIHT, or equivalent professional body
Strong experience in civil/structural design (ideally within energy, utilities, or infrastructure)
Excellent understanding of relevant codes, standards and regulations
Strong communication and leadership skills with a collaborative approach
A problem-solver who thrives on technically challenging projects
