Overview

Principal Civil Engineer (Rivers) at WSP in the UK & Ireland. Chartered Civil Engineer with experience in Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management and river scour is sought to support Local Authority programme delivery and grow our FCERM capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and expertise for rivers, scour and coastal civil engineering design teams.
  • Support delivery of proposals and client engagements.
  • Mentor and develop Apprentices, Graduates and Early Career Professionals.
  • Contribute to Innovation Accelerator and Research & Development programmes.
  • Support delivery of local authority FCERM programmes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Chartered Civil Engineer status.
  • Experience post-degree in designing sustainable water management engineering designs (e.g., scour assessments, scour repair design, river or flood defence works, coastal engineering).
  • Degree qualified in civil engineering.
  • Knowledge and understanding of flood and river scour design principles and solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in managing projects/programmes and teams to meet quality and commercial targets.

Location

Ideally in the South West of England to work from Exeter or Bristol offices, but other locations nationwide are considered.
