Principal Civil Engineer is required for a leading infrastructure design and engineering firm specialising in rail electrification, civil works, and water sector solutions, delivering projects from concept through detailed design. They provide excellence in both design & build, working in operational networks and constrained environments.

Job Details

• Location: Manchester
• Hybrid: 3 days on-site per week
• Contract: up to £480 per day OUTSIDE IR35
• Permanent: up to £75K per annum
• Right to work: Company cannot provide visa sponsorship; only candidates residing in UK with existing right to work will be considered

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of high-quality, safe, and compliant design solutions
• Oversee engineers, CAD technicians, and graduates
• Ensure adherence to technical and industry standards
• Approve design deliverables, reports, and specifications
• Manage project changes and estimate design hours
• Present at key meetings

Qualifications

• Chartered engineer
• 10 years of relevant design experience in the regulated water industry
• Understanding of hydraulics
• Experience with both clean water and wastewater
