OverviewPrincipal Infrastructure/Civil Engineer (General Civils and Residential) - BristolWe are recruiting a Principal Infrastructure/Civil Engineer to join our expanding Infrastructure Engineering team in Bristol. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to delivering an exceptional service that supports sustainable and successful development with a wide-ranging portfolio of clients across the UK.What We Are Looking ForWe seek a talented individual who can deliver a high-quality service, think creatively, and collaborate to develop pragmatic and innovative design solutions for land development challenges. The candidate should have project and team leadership experience and be comfortable contributing to the technical design and production of drawings and documentation.The role requires a good understanding of Civil Engineering best practice and standards, with the ability to produce high-quality work on a range of projects. The successful candidate will use initiative and professional judgment to support our clients’ projects and goals.Your areas of knowledge and expertiseBEng/MEng in Civil Engineering or a related subject plus 6+ years of relevant postgraduate experience; ideally Chartered or Incorporated with a professional body (e.g., ICE).Proven ability to lead the production of residential or general infrastructure development schemes, including highways, drainage, levels and plot engineering. Experience leading major projects in a hands-on role and managing/j prioritising workload for junior team members.Ability to design using best practices and guidance such as Manual for Streets, Design and Construction Guidance, CIRIA SuDS Manual, Sewerage Sector Guidance, Building Regulations, and Local Authority design standards.Experience preparing drawings and calculations for private and adoptable arrangements; familiarity with obtaining consents and approvals (e.g., ordinary watercourse consent, S104 and S38 agreements).Numerate and software literate with experience in AutoCAD, Civils3D or similar, and drainage modelling software (e.g., Causeway Flow).Ability to manage non-technical aspects such as contract management, financials, programme, and resourcing; experience in client-facing roles.Consultancy/private sector development background with a pragmatic approach and understanding of residential development from concept to construction.Effective organizational and communication skills with a collaborative approach.A full driving licence and access to a car.What you can expectYou will be part of a proactive and vibrant team that values autonomy and initiative, while maintaining a supportive and collaborative working environment.
