Overview

RSK Land Development and Engineering (LDE) Ltd, part of the RSK Group, is looking for a Principal Civil Engineer to join the team in Exeter. This is a full-time, permanent position.

RSK Land & Development and Engineering (LDE) Ltd provides a complete engineering design service for all sectors in the Construction Industry, both pre and post planning. Formed in 2003 after specialist design engineers joined RSK to strengthen its capabilities, it now has a highly experienced team of professional civil and structural engineers with many years of experience in the assessment, design and construction of major development projects. LDE offers expertise in infrastructure and pre-acquisition engineering assessments, highways, drainage, structural and civil design, statutory utilities negotiations, flood risk and transport assessments. We seek a Principal Civil Engineer with ambition to grow with the Company and progress in the organisation to the next level and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • A Civil Engineer within the design team on designated projects, reporting to the Director.
  • Assist the Director with the commercial aspects of bidding and administering the project scope.
  • Lead a team for the successful delivery of day-to-day requirements of projects and deal directly with clients.
  • Prepare and produce the necessary infrastructure design, specifications and drawings using AutoCAD and other proprietary design software to comply with the project and statutory requirements.
  • Manage the timescales and resources available for undertaking required works.
  • Suitably qualified and experienced in both the design of drainage and highways in order to satisfactorily fulfil the responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Experience in drawing production in accordance with industry best practice.
  • Practical understanding of civil engineering principles, discipline codes of practice and design guides.
  • Working knowledge of software for highway design and ground modelling.
  • Working knowledge of software to design and model new drainage systems including sustainable drainage.
  • Advantageous but not essential: working knowledge of programming software; an appropriate professional qualification; design of potable water supply structures; experience in the design of waste management facilities.
