As a Principal Coastal Engineer, you'll play a vital role in every aspect of coastal engineering on Transformational Programmes for critical UK infrastructure with opportunities to work on iconic engineering projects at home and abroad.We specialise in all aspects of coastal engineering across sectors such as Water, Aviation, Defence, Energy and Cities & Development, providing modelling and engineering solutions through the project lifecycle with client-side support and during construction phases. We currently have opportunities in our Epsom and Peterborough offices.Your PurposeLead a team to undertake technical design work following relevant design standards and codes, at high-quality levels.Prepare briefs, scopes of work, and input into bid proposals.Successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.Work closely with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.Adhere to quality assurance standards in design.What You Can BringChartered Civil Engineer.Experience in leading design delivery, including multidisciplinary design.Theoretical knowledge in ocean waves, tidal theory, extreme value statistics, nearshore wave processes and sediment transport.Design experience of coastal structures such as flood defences, sea walls, breakwaters, revetments and beaches to codes and standards such as BS6349, EurOtop manual and rock manual.Ability to plan and direct others in the use of numerical modelling to simulate wave propagation and tidal hydrodynamics.Why work for AtkinsRéalis?We are a top employer recognized for diversity and inclusion.
