Overview

We're looking for a Principal Design Engineer to join our Design team based in Salford. You'll utilise your extensive experience in delivering successful flood, water management, and drainage projects to achieve exceptional outcomes for a diverse range of clients, including National Highways, local authorities, water industry clients, and major projects like the A66 Northern Trans-Pennine. Your dedication to continuous improvement and development will ensure excellence across all projects.

Responsibilities

  • As Principal Design Engineer, you will lead a team of skilled designers in delivering high-value, high-quality drainage schemes, supporting the Drainage Design Manager in executing the drainage strategy.
  • Maintain the highest standards of quality and project controls established by the team and wider business.
  • Apply the latest design standards and lessons learned to projects.
  • Liaise with statutory and non-statutory bodies to obtain relevant data, licences, and consents.
  • Drive technical excellence and continuous improvement across the team.
  • Monitor project delivery and undertake change control management.

Qualifications

  • Civil Engineering degree or a similar combination of qualifications and/or experience.
  • Proven expertise in a similar role and in successfully leading teams to deliver projects.
  • Project management qualification and/or experience.

Salary and benefits

Salary: £50,000 - £57,500 + £5.9k annual car allowance + private healthcare + benefits
