Principal EC&I Engineer

Location: Patcham, South East, JAM Recruitment Ltd (Applications for region may be restricted).

Job Type: Contract

Hybrid work arrangement: 3 days in office per week

Rate: £55-60 per hour

IR35 status: Outside IR35

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical and instrumentation design activities for building services projects.
  • Define system operations, power-on procedures, operational modes, and self-tests.
  • Drive systems engineering efforts, ensuring practical development and deployment of products.
  • Gather, analyse, and challenge customer requirements; resolve design choices with stakeholders.
  • Define interfaces, handover points, and promote reuse of previously developed products/items.
  • Lead systems engineering activities such as architecture development, interface development, and requirements management with a pragmatic approach.
  • Perform system safety analysis and participate in system validation and verification to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Tailor or create processes to drive value-adding repeat activities.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 10-15+ years' experience as an EC&I Engineer.
  • 5+ years of experience within the Nuclear industry.
  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
